How to use YouTube Transcript to Quiz

  1. Obtain a transcript you are allowed to use.
  2. Paste the relevant transcript passage into the source field.
  3. Remove timestamps, speaker labels, and transcription errors when needed.
  4. Generate and verify the questions against the transcript and video.

This workflow starts with a transcript

The page does not download a video or automatically fetch captions from a YouTube URL. Paste transcript text for the section you want to study. Keeping the source focused makes the resulting questions easier to verify.

Clean captions before generating

Automatic captions may mishear names, technical terms, numbers, or punctuation. Correct important errors and keep enough surrounding context to identify who or what a pronoun refers to.

Remove repeated introductions, sponsor messages, and unrelated conversation unless they are part of the learning objective. Add speaker names when a discussion contains different viewpoints.

Check the quiz against the source

Verify both the transcript and the relevant moment in the video when accuracy matters. Generated questions cannot recover visual information, demonstrations, or text shown on screen unless that information also appears in the pasted transcript.
